Vincent J. Esposito
Monroe County Legislator, 16th District
Irondequoit, New York

A lifelong resident of Monroe County, Vinnie represents the 16th Legislative District in the Monroe County Legislature, which includes the northern portion of the Town of Irondequoit. In 2007, he was elected to a 4-year term and is seeking re-election in 2011.

A native of the Village of Fairport, Vinnie is a member of the Fairport High School class of ’94.

Following graduation, he studied at SUNY Geneseo before taking a position as a software developer and project manager for the small, Rochester-based firm, MMI Technologies, Inc.

Joe & VinnieThrough a close association with New York State Assemblyman Joseph D. Morelle, Vinnie grew interested in government and, more importantly, its impact on the lives of citizens. In 2003, Vinnie joined Morelle’s district staff office, where today he serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, focusing much of his time on policies and projects to help revitalize the Upstate economy.

The experience of watching so many childhood friends and contemporaries leave this area for better job opportunities has, in large part, motivated Vinnie’s public service to do his part to restore economic prosperity and governmental integrity to our community and region.

Vinnie currently serves as the ranking minority member of the Legislature’s Planning and Economic Development Committee and is also a member of the Agenda/Charter Committee, where he has spearheaded several reform proposals such as reducing the size of the Legislature, independent redistricting and various rules reforms. Vinnie served on the Transportation Committee and County Planning Board from 2008 through 2010. In November 2010, Vinnie was unanimously elected to the position of Deputy to the Leadership of the Democratic Caucus and also appointed to the Ways and Means Committee and the Monroe County Council of Local Governments.

Vinnie is a member of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish at Christ the King Church,  the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce, and is Vice-President-elect of the Irondequoit Kiwanis Club.  Vinnie and his wife, Jennifer, recently celebrated the birth of their second daughter, Grace, who joins her big sister, Avery, and their dog, Bo.
